A word becomes a world.
Houses climb the letters of Amman in Aroub’s original illustrated word. A word is not only something to read; it can become a place to look.
Made for someone.
Her father. A couple in love. Family portraits. An artist friend, drawn while they worked together.
Where they live now.
From someone to something personal.

Part two. Beyond the page.
When a drawing outgrows paper and becomes a wall, a floor, a place.
First a card. Then a threshold.
On a visit to her sister in North Carolina, Aroub drew the two of them on a card and left it at Seela Salon. Clients noticed the drawing and asked for their own. Later, she brought the design to the entrance floor: two cobalt birds, red and white accents, and a drawing large enough to walk into.
Painted directly onto the concrete entrance floor and sealed after painting, the work carries Aroub’s Arabic signature.
From the page to the place.
PaperThe bird begins at the scale of a hand. ScaleThe line leaves the paper. Chalk establishes its scale on concrete. CobaltCobalt, red and white enter the drawing. The floorThe finished floor and the drawing that led to it.
A wall. A floor. A place that could be yours.
Share the place, its approximate dimensions, photographs and what you imagine. Murals are quoted individually after a conversation; there is no fixed online price.
